At La Maison Europeenne de la Photographie from Paris, a wonderful exhibition gathering over 300 works, organized to celebrate the 100th anniversary of the photographer Henri Cartier Bresson's birth. HCB travelled this world lenghtwise and crosswise, his camera catching surprising images of the fascinating Africa of the 1920s, of the Liberation of Paris, of Gandhi's India - just before Gandhi was assassinated - and, the victory of the communists in China and in the entire Eastern Europe. Glimpses from the people's lives or fragmens of history captured with lucidity and candour, a black & white portrait of the XXth century.
